Category 5 Hurricane Michael struck Panama City Beach on October 10, 2018, and it made the Panama City Beach Music Festival a little difficult in the spring of 2019. Late in the year 2019 we were beginning to hear about a new virus that first appeared in China, but was highly transmissible. By the spring of 2020, the virus was running rampant in our country and for the first time in 40 years, The high school band middle school band and choral festival at Panama City Beach was cancelled.
The virus continued to rage out of control in 2021, and the PCB Music Festival had to be cancelled for a second year in a row. But thank goodness two vaccines were created and approved, and the rebound for America was underway.
That bring us to the spring of 2022. The Panama City Beach Music Festival will return with many of our loyal supporters registered to participate. The community has had a positive response to the return of the festival, and local officials have determined that we will allow each participating school to follow the protocols from their home school district. We will c continue to make this a safe, quality event filled with wonderful musical performances, great meals, great fun on the most beautiful beach in the world.
April 29-30, and May 13-14 will mark the return thousands of students coming to Panama City Beach to compete, to show off their musical skills, and have fun with each other on Florida’s REAL FUN BEACH.
