Musically It’s Going To Be A Diverse Year

The 2018 festival dates are really filling up nicely, and this fall we have been humbled by your ever-growing support. The truly interesting aspect of the groups who have registered to date is the diversity of types of performances. We have the usual symphonic, concert, orchestra, and choral groups, and this year we have a number of parade participants, more jazz bands, and indoor guard groups.

The optional parade performance is really cool.  It’s short and sweet, but the route takes the bands through a high-traffic section of Pier Park. Pier Park is a Simon Property shopping and dining complex that has truly become the downtown of Panama City Beach. It’s a family-friendly environment that has a unique appeal to young people. That’s why the parade is scheduled right before we all converge on Dave & Buster’s for dinner followed by hours of fun with video game play with a Power Card for each festival participant.

Nearly half of this year’s groups will be returning to the PCB Music Festival, while the other half will be coming for the first time ever. Most of the new groups were encouraged to join us by directors who came in the past, and who shared the news about their experience. We can’t thank those directors enough for sharing information about our festival with so many other directors.

As of the writing of this blog, (September 24, 2017) we have three performance slots available on the April 26-28 weekend, and two performance sots available for the May 10-12 weekend. We love to have you join us, so give us a call at  (850) 258-4286, or email buddy@panamacitybeachmusicfestival.com
